Hey Eric,

What can I say? People always like a bit of controversy ;-)

However, this is my true view: Jaguar Love are nothing but a couple of guitarists with a whiny little girl for a frontman.

And yeah, Emerge is one of my favourite tracks from the era, but that doesn't change the fact that, as per Jaguar Love, Fischerspooner were all hype and no delivery. I'll give you that JL are marginally less pretentious - and are guaranteed to have less interesting performances - but given that they don't even have a single outstanding track... well, being frank, I just want them to die.

If you want proper fun, check out Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip. I recommend Letter From God and Thou Shalt Always Kill. The last one's video on YouTube pretty much well sums up my attitude towards Jaguar Love.

Don't know "Highways Of Gold", so can't comment - guess I'll have to go find it now you've brought it up ;-) I'd only heard the one tune. Sorry to hear you don't like 'em. Can't be as bad as Fischer Spooner though, really?... Still, maybe the one I like is their "Emerge"?

Nice blog marketing technique, by the way :)

Jaguar Love - Highways of Gold...

It may not have taken long, but the time has come: I am incapable of writing an introduction about this band and the jumped-up haddock of a single they’ve released.
“Wah, wah, wah” goes the chorus. Well quite. Apparently, this is mea...

Look out? Hrm, for shame: I'd rather hoped when I first saw mention of Jaguar Love in your post that you'd be talking about a folder of songs never to be played. Alas.

Fischerspooner with guitars, that's them.

Just wanted to drop in and say WOW!
What you are doing is absolutely fantastic.
I am a long time fan of Negativland, Musique concrète, and plunderphonics.
I just downloaded your albums and they blew my mind!
My hats off to you.
AND... ever play NYC? I

I've lost track of the number of tunes in my collection that I grabbed after hearing them in one of your mixes, shows or blog posts. Keep up the fine, fine work, Mr. K!

Awesome to see you back in the blogging saddle. It'd be awesome if you did a "Best of 2007" Hectic City like you did for 2006 - turned me on to lots of new stuff. Cheers!
